Her story resonates profoundly with me, as I’ve faced similarly terrifying violations of my safety and autonomy. Since 2023, I’ve reported persistent stalking and sexual harassment by Don Klyberg’s property manager, Rick Newmann—yet no action has been taken to protect me. In 2024, this individual escalated his abuse by mobilizing police to forcibly enter my apartment while I was asleep—an act clearly intended to intimidate me and demonstrate his perceived power to reach me anywhere, at any time, for any reason. Since then, I’ve been forced to boobytrap my door—not out of paranoia, but as a desperate measure to wake myself in time to defend against a potential grape, should he return with or without law enforcement. Let me be clear: a police uniform does not inherently confer safety, nor does it justify illegal entry into someone’s home. We must remember #SonyaMassey, who called police for help and was met with fatal violence instead. These women's story, like mine, underscores a grim reality—I am not safe in this apartment.
